This is the design-side home for Project Broadsword: a minifigure-scale Venator-class Star Destroyer in Lego, executed as a Display Variant with cutaway and mirrored design language. I designed the work. CloneBrickCustoms improved upon it, together we are bringing it to life.
You have landed at Imperial Engineering, the publication holding the documentation of the design side of that build.
Where We Are Now
The hangar is built. Physically, at a private location, with a spread of vehicles populating it. The bridge superstructure has been color-adjusted. Designs sit on the board for structural reinforcement and added depth. It’s coming together with haste, slowly…
We are ultimately limited by the technology at our disposal. This is over 600k Parts!
and my laptop damn near melted
What Comes Next
Forward design work continues across the bridge revisions, the internal hangar build-out, and the long road to completion. A video series will carry the build visually: bridge superstructure walk-through first, then hangar, then a section-by-section rebuild with the new adjustments baked in. The physical build progresses on The bench of CWC while the design forges forward from my cabin.
How To Read the Publication
Start at the Grand Design Map. The Map is the navigation hub. Every meaningful drop on this publication will land there as it ships, updated within 24 hours of any new post. Drop in by category, by series, or by chronology, depending on what brought you here.
Three series carry the work: Where We Started (the chronological walk from v1), Where We Are Now (current state), and Where We Are Going (forward design). Reading all three produces full consensus. Reading any one alone produces a partial view.
there is no right way to read, just dive in, enjoy what you see, and comment where you want to see changes!
Eight pillar tags carry the work by dimension: Build Logs, Decision Logs, Technique Archives, Reference Material, Cutaway Documentation, Three-Scale Work, Revisions, and Reveals. Posts tag across pillars. We wanted to give you the power to track whichever pillar pulls at you most, so explore; every post will be connected and the map will always be updated first.
